Summer Drop-in Days are every Wednesday and Thursday in July and August from 10am-3pm.  These themed events feature art & science activities, special performances and more!  Check below for showtimes.

Tie Dye

Get groovy! Create a wearable kaleidoscope of color. Bring a t-shirt or buy one from us for $5.

Curious Creatures

Shows at 11am and 1pm

What a croc! or a chinchilla, or any number of other exotic animals which will be presented in this interactive, crowd-pleasing program.

Art Day/Balloon Sculpture

Mimic the Masters, transform simple materials into works of art inspired by famous artists.
10am-noon: Join the Balloon Fairy for a hands-on experience utilizing the magic and artistry of balloons.  Explore concepts in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math while creating a balloon sculpture inspired by Dale Chihuly’s famous glass sculptures. (Recommend for ages 5 & up)

Thursday, July 13, 10am-3pm

Bigfoot Day

Create a Bigfoot habitat that he’d be happy to call home. Also, test your skills in the Bigfoot obstacle course.

11am: Learn about New England wildlife and even meet some of its inhabitants during a special animal program presented by New England Reptile and Raptor.

At 1pm you will have the chance to make your very own Bigfoot expedition kit (while supplies last).

Music & Merriment

11am: Clown around with our favorite magician, Awesome Robb.  Awesome Robb shares secrets he learned at Clown College as he transforms into gonzo the clown and performs some amazing (and hilarious) tricks!

1-3pm: Don’t miss a beat!  Master drummer Tony Fonseca plays a continuous heart-pounding beat and encourages visitors to play along in his drum circle and explore this rhythm through creative movement. Tony Fonseca has been studying, playing and teaching drumming for over 40 years.  Come make music while you move to the beat, play along and make some noise in this participatory session.

Dino Day

Dig for fossils, create your own and make some cool dino crafts.
11am: New England Reptile and Raptor introduces you to some real-life relatives of the dinosaurs in this live animal program.

Rosalita’s Puppets/Pirates
Shows at 11am & 1pm
Let  Pirate Rachel Skullcap visit with a selection of pirate themed puppet stories “The Pirate and the Parrot” “The Pig Who Would Be Pirate” and “The Brave Princess”

Bubble Music Man
Dance along with the Bubble Music Man and learn how to make some crazy bubbles and cool bubble blowers! There will be a show with DJ Rob Peters at 1:30pm. You can experiment with different sized bubbles and have fun making bubble art.

Fly over dressed as your favorite super hero and take part in agility and strength exercises. Enjoy a special “super” comedy and magic show at 11am & 1pm from professional entertainer Awesome Robb.

Toddlerbilly Rock with Matt Heaton
10am: Matt Heaton believes music for kids can be entertaining for both children AND parents. His songs are a mix of rockabilly, surf, american roots and Irish traditional music, delivered with a wry sense of humor and a sincere sense of fun. Children and adults respond to his musicianship and variety. The adults in the room particularly appreciate the Muppet-esque touches of humor and observations of kid behavior. Whether you call it children’s music, family music, kindie or toddlerbilly it’s sure to please listeners of all ages.
