Museum Mentor Program


For kids entering grades 7- 9.
Experience the fun of meeting new friends your own age, learning new skills and helping others in a fun-filled environment! Through training and working side-by-side with Museum staff, participants are provided with the tools and confidence to impact children, find success in future endeavors, and become life long learners! As an ambassador of the Museum, you will provide hands-on facilitation of programs and exhibits to our visitors with a positive attitude.Hours vary and participants will qualify for community service hours.

Responsibilities

  • Assist on the Museum floor 1 day a week to share what you’ve learned with visitors (4-hour shift).
  • Help keep the Museum clean and organized.

Requirements

  • Your schedule can be arranged to accommodate family vacation or other programs. However, you must be available to work 5 weeks during the summer.
  • You must work one 4-hour shift a week. Morning and afternoon shifts are available (for a total of 20 hours throughout the summer).

 

HOW TO REGISTER

  • Complete the registration form with two references by June 22. Attend the information workshop on Tuesday, June 26 from 10-12:30 or Wednesday, June 27 from 1-3:30. Please RSVP by emailing Steven Hill: stevenh@childrensmuseumineaston.org or calling the Museum at 508-230-3789. Space is limited. We cannot guarantee each applicant will be selected.
  • There is a $100 fee which covers training and a t-shirt.
