The Path to Life-long Learning Starts With Play

And it needs YOU to continue!

No matter what your age; no matter how far life has taken you -
you’re most likely still learning through play!    Really, you probably are . . .

At the counter of an electronics store, a customer paid for his new cell phone.  “It’ll take you a while to go through the owner’s manual before you use it,” said the salesperson.

The customer said, “Oh, I never read those things.”

“Really?” said the sales clerk, “How will you get it to work?”

“I’ll just play around with it and figure it out,” he replied. “I always do. It’s more fun that way!”

At The Children’s Museum in Easton, play starts children on a path to knowledge that lasts a lifetime. Like my friend with the cell phone, each of us develops a lifelong love of playing to learn! For 21 years, The Children’s Museum in Easton has been a fun, safe, and caring place for children to experience the joy of hands-on play that stimulates curiosity, celebrates exploration, and instills a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.

It would never have happened without you.

Educators know that learning through play is essential to the healthy development of children. Play lets them gather valuable information and develop important skills that stay with them for a lifetime. Play helps children develop physically, emotionally and mentally - and creates strong bonds between the children and family members who play with them.

We have become a place where kids and their families - parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles -  engage in learning through exploration, discovery and imagination  … and they do it together!

These children and families could never have done this without you.

Since 1991 The Children’s Museum in Easton has been one of the most popular destinations for children and families in Southeastern Massachusetts. After 21 years, and more than 650,000 visitors, the Museum continues to grow and thrive. More than 57,000 visitors enjoy our exhibits, programs and events each year.

We could never have done this without you.

Our mission of helping children and families play and learn together is made possible by people just like you.  Moms and Dads, Grandmas and Grandpas, Aunts and Uncles – you are the lifeblood of The Museum.

Memberships and admissions cover less than 50 percent of our operating budget. Special events, program fees and such bring us closer to 75 percent. The rest comes from you - from individuals, foundations and corporations who believe in us.

It will not continue without you.   Now, more than ever, we need your support!

Won’t you please consider a gift to The Museum? If you have been a donor in the past, we are ever thankful for your support and hope that you’ll continue to be a part of our success. If this is your first time as a donor, please know that every gift, no matter how much, is so important to us.

Your tax deductible gift will provide funds needed for exhibits, events, programs and services to help thousands of children and families create their own path to lifelong learning. You can give the gift of play that will teach a child for life.

Thank you for your friendship and support. It means everything to the children and families we serve.

“It’s not so much what children learn through play, but what they won’t learn if we don’t give them the chance …”    Susan J. Oliver (Author - Playing for Keeps)
