Can large groups and school field trips visit the Museum?
Yes! Group visits are welcomed on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from September to June. During the months of July and August, groups can visit on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. Due to occupancy limits, group size is limited to 125.
What age group is appropriate for the Museum?
Our interactive exhibits are designed to serve the developmental and creative needs of ages 1 to 8.
How do we explore the Museum?
The Museum is self-guided. After a brief orientation by Museum staff, you can explore the Museum’s three floors of interactive exhibits and The Wild Place at your own pace until your departure time.
How long does it take to experience the Museum?
Although your visitor experience may differ, an average group visit is 2½ to 3 hours with additional time added to enjoy lunch outside.
Can we eat at the Museum?
You can use the picnic tables located outside in The Wild Place at any time. In the event of inclement weather on the day of your visit, please check with Museum staff to see if indoor space is available. For the safety of our guests, food is not allowed in the exhibit areas.
What is the cost for a group visit?
Groups of 20 or more children are admitted at $6.00 each. Teachers are always free! Museum memberships are not valid for group or field trip visits.
What if I have less than 20 children in my group?
Please call the Museum’s Visitor Services Manager (508-230-3789). They may be able to advise you on ways to save on your visit.
What about chaperones?
One adult chaperone is required for every five children. These chaperones are admitted free. Additional chaperones will be admitted at the groups’ reduced rate.
Where does our bus drop us off?
On the day of your visit, there is a designated spot reserved for bus drop off and pick up in front on the Museum, located on Sullivan Avenue. There is no bus parking along Sullivan Avenue. There are many municipal lots in the surrounding area where the bus may park.
What are your payment options?
Payment is due in full on the day of your visit. The Museum does NOT accept purchase orders for group visits. Payment can be presented in the form of cash, check or credit card upon your arrival.

Please call the Museum directly at 508-230-3789, Tuesday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
After you have scheduled your trip, you will receive a written confirmation in the mail. This also serves as your invoice (for those
organizations who require one in order to request payment). Remember, we expect payment in full upon your arrival. We do not accept purchase orders. In the event that your organization sends us payment in advance of your visit, we will make note and will make any adjustments, if necessary, that day.
Are groups able to visit the Museum without booking a specific date and time?
Yes, groups are welcome during normal business hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from September through June. July and August group visits are welcome on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. Full price admission is charged. (Remember, groups that include 20 or more children, will have their admission price reduced if they pre-book their visit.)
